CHOOSING YOUR SCREEN
A shopfront screen viewed from a few metres away needs a different setup from a roadside display seen from passing traffic. The right screen depends on where it sits, how far away people will view it, the surrounding light and the type of content you want to show. Here are the key things we look at when helping you choose the best option.
How far away will people be standing when they read it? Pixel pitch is the gap between the LEDs - the smaller the number, the closer you can stand before the image starts to break up. A shopfront window read from the footpath needs a finer pitch than a roadside screen read from a moving car. Our projects typically run between P2.5 and P10.
Behind shopfront glass or facing open sky, the screen is competing with the sun. Our screens run up to 10× the brightness of a standard indoor TV, which is what keeps the message readable at midday rather than only after dark.
Bigger isn't automatically better. The screen has to fit the space you actually have - a window recess, an awning, a pylon face - and stay readable from where people see it. Where a standard size doesn't suit, we can build a custom LED screen to fit the space rather than make you choose from a fixed product range.
A café rotating a lunch special has different needs from a property window showing listings all day, and it's not limited to static images — videos run just as well. What you show affects the resolution, the size and how the screen is set up. If you don't have anything ready to put on it, we can make the first images and videos for you.
Mounting height, viewing angle, glass, awnings, power access and how you'll reach it for service all change the answer. This is the part that's hardest to judge from a photograph, which is why we come and look.

WHERE IT GOES
Read by people walking past your frontage, usually from a few metres away — behind the window glass, or mounted outside under the awning. Either way the screen has to beat the daylight around it. Awning-mounted screens are exposed to the weather, and can be double-sided so they’re readable from both directions along the street.
Read from further back — from passing traffic, across a car park, or from a hotel or service-station frontage. A larger pixel pitch is usually fine at that distance; weather sealing, mounting height and viewing angle become the bigger questions.
For sites shared by several businesses, buildings with multiple tenants, and organisations with announcements that change regularly. It replaces the printed panel you’d otherwise be reprinting.
